Host Moboman programs radio and is a sushi chef too. In both vocations one takes tasty morsels of quality ingredients, and puts them together in interesting and unique ways. Had a business called Mobo and the name stuck. It means to search while standing still and wandering. Again, the art of both vocations is invoked.
Mobo’s first broadcast (1981) was in Indonesian language, when he was faculty adviser for the radio club at University Palangka Raya. 1983-1994 he broadcast on 88.9 KUSP Santa Cruz an overnight show to travelers on the I-5. Spent some time in the 00′s on N2BN.org the Into Blues Network, and the past 3 years here at KCTY. Currently taking Wagman’s Website class, in progress. I believe PUBLIC ACCESS to Media can make a difference in people’s lives.
I believe that PUBLIC ACCESS to Media insures that the “VOICE OF THE PEOPLE” is heard by many and I believe it to be part of our “FIRST AMMENDMENT RIGHTS to FREE SPEECH”. I believe that PUBLIC ACCESS to Media provides a needed platform for the dynamics of DEMOCRACY to flourish and provides an open door for sharing and collaboration in MUSIC and the ARTS making a vibrant and more excellent cultural fabric. and “friend me “@ facebook….Judy Baker! |

Underground party scene, back yard party’s, John Palafox would walk, eat, and sleep with his walkman. Listening to music from power 106 to KROQ, this molds John Palafox into the DJ he has become and the person he is today.
DJ John Palafox first laid hands on a pair of turntables at the age of 13, ever since then, he has been practicing , in what he refers to as his “Fortress Of Solitude”. At the age of 17 years, he started mixing at weddings, private party’s, and moved up to clubs, company events, clothing stores, and his own radio show which broadcast online world wide, and on the FM dial John is currently mixing at metro park clothing and continues to run his own online radio show. He’s always looking for a challenge, and is always hungry for more. He feels that with his mixing he brings happiness through what he mixes to make any crowd move. He can read and feel the crowds energy all in the moment. John was always inspired by many excellent DJ’s around the world , his parents for always pushing him and for his loving family who supports him. The music is literally in John’s blood from his grandfather, to his father before him. Every day is a struggle and each day he gets closer to his goals. Coming from a small city, where he was born and raised now representing harbor city. What separates him as a DJ from others is he is humble, positive, optimistic as he is talented as he grows more in the music industry “You have to love what you do because it will be a vessel with lost hope and no meaning”. |
